STORY BOARD: Donald Brink Creates Surfing Treasures From Trash

“When a work lifts your spirits and inspires bold and noble thoughts in you, do not look for any other standard to judge by: the work is good, the product of a master craftsman.” -Jean de la Bruyere

Southern California based surfboard shaper and craftsman Donald Brink works in a variety of mediums when it comes to the creation of surfboards. While staying true to his philosophy of simplicity and the deeper meaning of the surfing experience, Brink’s finds joy in building custom surfcraft to compliment the individual and the freedom found through riding waves.

This short film shows Brink building a surfboard from pallet wood, while through his words, he shares thoughts and wisdom on his creative process and a life dedicated to the sea.
